A year of milestones: LeanIX looks back on successful nine months in 2017
- New office on the US East Coast
- Successful series B financing round with Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners
- Participant of the new Microsoft Accelerator program
Bonn, September 18th – LeanIX, an IT startup from Bonn (Germany), is continuing its success story.
In addition to the opening of an office in Boston, the company has completed a very successful Series B financing round and is currently part of the newly launched Microsoft Accelerator program. LeanIX helps companies modernise their IT with its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application for Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM). More than 90 well-known customers worldwide, such as Adidas, DHL, Merck, Vodafone and Zalando, use LeanIX technology.
At the beginning of the year, LeanIX opened its first office on the US East Coast. The presence in Boston is intended to provide customers with even more intensive support. The company also has a strong focus on the US market. “That’s why it was a logical and important step for LeanIX to establish a branch office in the United States last year and to open another office now “, says Jörg G. Beyer, co-founder and Co-CEO as well as interim manager of the Boston office. The US market entry is to be systematically continued in the coming months.
After having participated in “STEP NYC” in 2016, a program for startups and entrepreneurs offered by the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York, the startup from Bonn strives to establish a sales organization with five to seven employees in the next couple of months. “Thanks to the outstanding experts from areas such as marketing, communications and law, the ‘STEP NYC’ week has contributed to further sharpen our approach for market entry and establish the organization,” says Jörg G. Beyer.
Another milestone is the successful Series B financing round, where LeanIX secured 7.5 million US dollars, which will be used primarily for the expansion in the American market and for the advanced product development, for example in the field of support for Cloud Environments and Microservies Architectures. The financing round is led by DTCP (Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners). The existing investors Capnamic Ventures and Iris Capital are also participating. “We are very pleased to have a strong partner in DTCP to continue our expansion in the USA,” says André Christ.
Since September, LeanIX is part of the Microsoft Accelerator Program, making it one of the few selected companies which will receive special support in the coming months. Since 2013, young entrepreneurs from all over the world have been regularly invited to participate in a four-month accelerator program. This year, Microsoft has completely realigned its support program. For the first time, ten already established tech startups will take part in the event, which have already completed their first financing rounds. “We are proud to be part of this exceptional program and the worldwide Microsoft network. It confirms our work so far and will not only help us to continue to scale our business, but will also help us to drive forward our expansion in the US market,” says André Christ.
